NIC: Fiscal insanity continues
The dysfunctional North Idaho College board is poised to provide millions of dollars for athletic scholarships for out of town and/or foreign athletes. Insane.
North Idaho College provides the opportunity for people to enter professions desperately needed to keep this community functioning. Business owners and builders should be very worried that there won’t be enough trained people to fill jobs if North Idaho College disappears. Athletes will go back to their homes and provide nothing for this community. This would be a grievous waste of taxpayer money.
The board has wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars by hiring Greg South, by having to provide attorney’s fees for mistakes, for hiring attorneys with no experience in education, now hiring an extremely expensive Washington, D.C., attorney instead of a local attorney, proposing to hand out millions to athletes from elsewhere, and a host of other stupid moves.
