Semanko appoints Angela Cross

Idaho Republican leaders announced their appointments to the new Idaho Redistricting Commission today, and a Kootenai County resident is one of them.

State GOP chairman Norm Semanko appointed Angela Cross of Post Falls to the commission. House Speaker Lawrence Denney selected Bob Forrey of Nampa.

Semanko and Denney filed the necessary documents with the Idaho Supreme Court today to ensure the appointments are recognized by the time the commission convenes Thursday in Boise.

Cross is a community activist who is deeply involved with the Idaho Republican Party. She serves on the board of directors of the 3Cs (Cancer and Community Charities) and helps coordinate Kootenai Medical Center's annual Festival of Trees benefit.

Cross attended Fullerton College in Fullerton, Calif., where she majored in interior design, and graduated from St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Ill., as a surgical technician. Cross, of Post Falls, is married to John Cross, who currently serves as Chairman of the Region 1 Republicans and is a member of the Idaho Republican Party's Executive Committee. The couple has two children and three grandchildren.

Forrey is a former state legislator who served in the Idaho House of Representatives from 1983 to 1987. During his time in the legislature, Forrey served on the Education, Revenue and Taxation, Judicial and Rules, and Transportation Committees. He has also served as a member of the Boise School Board, the Nampa Highway District Board, and the board of the Idaho Home Educators.

Forrey is a retired U.S. Army Lt. Colonel. He and his wife, Barbara, have been married for 62 years. They have four children, 10 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
