Indians shut out Yakima

SPOKANE - Spokane starter Connor Sadzeck went four scoreless innings, striking out seven and walking four and he teamed with three relievers on a shutout as the Indians beat the Yakima Bears 3-0 on Sunday night in Northwest League baseball before 4,543 at Avista Stadium.

Cam Schiller's RBI single in the bottom of the sixth broke the scoreless tie. Patrick Cantwell came home on Royce Bolinger's line out to right field, and Schiller later scored on Ryan Rua's double for a 3-0 Spokane lead.

Richard Alvarez came on in the fifth for the Indians (3-2 second half), allowed one hit while striking out for in three innings of work. Joseph Burns struck out two in the eighth, and Jose McElwee came in on the ninth and got the save, striking out one.

After an off day today, Spokane starts a two-game series in Boise vs. the Hawks.

Yakima is 3-2.
