Update: Stabbing suspect in custody

James Kountz

The North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force is seeking information leading to the apprehension of James Hiram Kountz.

Kountz, 56, is being sought based on a Kootenai County felony warrant charging Kountz with aggravated battery as a result of a recent stabbing in Coeur d’Alene. This is a $100,000 bond warrant with United States extradition.

Kountz is a white male, 5 foot 6 inches tall, 185 pounds with hazel eyes and gray hair. Kountz was last known to be living in the Coeur d’Alene and Hayden areas.

Anyone with information regarding this subject or other fugitives being sought for violent crimes should call the NIVCTF at 208-665-4455. The identities of callers will remain confidential and reward money is available.
