Hayden Kite Festival is this weekend

HAYDEN - On Saturday the city of Hayden is holding the sixth annual Hayden Kite Festival for local families.

The event will take place from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Broadmoore Park.

The park is located within Broadmoore Estates, north of Atlas Elementary School. It is accessible from Prairie Avenue and Atlas Road. The event is open to all ages.

Registration will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the park.

Judging goes on from noon to 2 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony at 2:15 p.m.

Categories for judging the kites will include best in show, high flier, the best homemade and others.

Spokane Teachers Credit Union and the Hayden Chamber of Commerce are supporting the event again this year. Cub Scout Pack 226 conducted a Kite Workshop on April 14.
