COEUR d'ALENE - The Panhandle Area Council (PAC) board of directors has hired Greg Cook as executive director. PAC is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote and assist economic development and foster a stable and diversified economy within the five northern counties of Idaho, with offices located at the Coeur d'Alene Airport.
Cook brings more than 30 years of experience, skills and expertise gained from various roles as a military commander, leader, educator, business owner and entrepreneur. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years as a pilot, staff officer and commander, retiring as a colonel in 2005.
Since then, he has been engaged as an independent business and management consultant specializing in business development, public relations and marketing, with emphasis on the analysis of defense industry policy, requirements and issues. He also provides leadership development and training, in addition to writing and speaking professionally on issues related to national security, politics, business and leadership.
Cook is a graduate of Coeur d'Alene High School and the University of Idaho, completing master's degrees in International Relations from Webster University and National Security Strategy from National Defense University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University.
