COEUR d'ALENE - A chimney fire caused an estimated $25,000 worth of damage at the Hagadone Event Center on the shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene on Friday night.

There were no injuries.

"All of the guests and staff were safe, which was the most important thing," said Jerry Jaeger, president of Hagadone Hospitality.

Coeur d'Alene Fire Chief Kenny Gabriel said the cause is under investigation. He said he expects the center to be back in business by the first part of the week.

There was a wedding party at the center during the fire, which occurred around 9:45 p.m.. The building was evacuated.

Kootenai County Fire and Rescue and Northern Lakes Fire assisted Coeur d'Alene Fire during the incident.

Jaeger praised the fire departments for the fast response.

"We'd like to compliment Kenny and Coeur d'Alene Fire and (other responders)," Jaeger said.
