Maggie Holloway first felt the calling on her life, to spread the love of Jesus Christ, through the serving and walking alongside those in poverty, and especially children in need, when she was very young. This calling was realized at the age of 11, when her family joined a team that takes trips to Mexico over spring break, to build houses for those in extreme poverty.

After the first trip to El Florida, Mexico, she began taking Spanish classes throughout her remaining years of school, knowing that she would use the language, but not knowing yet to what extent.

Serving God through serving others has been her passion over the past six years. At the age of 16, it was confirmed that she was called specifically to serve in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. San Pedro Sula is not a place for the faint of heart. The U.S. Department of State issued a travel warning in January 2017 addressing San Pedro Sula specifically.

Maggie is undaunted. Knowing the direction her heart and life were guided toward and anxious to get started. She worked many hours this year at her job at Gross Donuts and took extra classes online to graduate with honors a year early. Maggie, now 17 years old, set out, with two friends, on her first trip to San Pedro Sula on July 18, paid for entirely with her own earnings, to serve at Heart of the City Church Honduras. Those Spanish language skills are coming in handy, and Maggie is doing what she loves to do best. She is sharing the love of Jesus Christ that has so impacted her own heart and life.

Alexa Curson, daughter of Rick and Stacey Curson of Dalton Gardens, is currently serving as a missionary in Finland and Sweden.

Lexie graduated from high school at Christian Center School in 2013. She then graduated from Calvary Chapel Bible College in 2015, after studying in England, Seattle, Italy and California. She was able to serve on several missions in Romania and Finland. She graduated from North Idaho College in May 2017 and departed to Turku, Finland, to serve an internship at Calvary Chapel Turku. She was employed as a barista at Terre Coffee in Post Falls before she departed, and will be attending Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va., when she returns to the states.

She has led worship and music in several schools, churches and countries over the last six years and has become proficient in several languages as she has traveled, served and shared the Gospel where she is needed.
