Getting maximum exposure

Local advertising company produces custom vehicle wraps for private, commercial and government customers.


Josh Scott was the kid in school who was always sketching on papers and notebooks. His pencil or pen moved constantly, just not necessarily reflecting what was being taught at the moment in the classroom.

He was a doodler whose creativity could draw the ire of his teachers.

“They would always tell me to focus in class,” says Scott. “I just was a kid who loved art.”

Those early drawings were only a preview of what was to come after college. Scott  turned his love of art into a successful graphic design business. His work is not only eye-catching, but his custom designs make people smile.

“I would describe my style as a little edgy,” Scott says.

Scott owns Maximum Exposure Premium Wraps, a marketing and advertising business that produces custom vehicle wraps for private, commercial and government customers.

“We can do anything from mild to wild,” he says. “It depends on the customer and what their needs are.”

Maximum Exposure Wraps uses vinyl to customize cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, ATVs, and other recreational vehicles with custom graphics. In addition, the business can handle big jobs like semi-trucks and tractor trailers.   

The business turns the mundane into magical with high-quality artwork. North Idaho residents have probably seen Scott's artwork all over the region and not even realized he was behind it.  

His customers include Vertical Earth, Hagadone Marine, Koerner's Furniture, Heart of the City Church, Jump for Joy and Nutrishop. Scott also handles the vinyl vehicle wraps for the city of Coeur d'alene and the Coeur d'Alene Fire Department.

These aren't just vehicle stickers.  Customers can completely change their vehicle's color — a much more affordable method to spruce up fading paint, says Scott.

“We can make your vehicle take on a whole new personality,” he says. “And it will look better than brand new.”

Maximum Exposure Premium also covers buildings and storefronts like the Jacklin Seed facility in Post Falls with cutting-edge branding options.

“I love what I am doing every day,” says Scott, who launched the business nearly three years ago. “The market for high quality graphics has really taken off here.”

Scott says his work is guaranteed to last at least five years or more without fading. He notes that the quality of the materials and application processes have greatly improved since he first started doing vinyl vehicle wraps.

His artwork has gotten the attention of 3M, the international vinyl manufacturer, who is using Maximum Exposure's designs to promote their own products.  

“One of our vans is going to be featured in their in-house magazine, which is really cool,” Scott says. “Getting recognized for what we do is an honor.”

Scott gives special thanks to his parents and recognizes his employees for the success of the business.

“Without all of their hard work, none of this is possible,” he says. “I have an amazing team.”

His company is tucked away in a small office on Fourth Street. Scott's energy and passion for his work is contagious — especially helping make other local businesses succeed.

“We're growing and that's exciting,” the Coeur d'Alene native says. “What's gratifying to me is being able to help out the small business owner.”

“We've done work for plumbers, window cleaners, you name it. The small guys don't have big budgets, so you know your work is going to mean a lot to them. I am really happy when they come back because they're adding a second vehicle to their fleet.”

Scott, who graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 2002 and then studied business at UNLV, says he is constantly thinking about innovative designs — at all hours.

“Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with a really cool design,” he says. “I have to get up and start drawing.”
