Sunday shooting in west Columbia sends man to hospital

An armed home invasion in west Columbia Sunday evening led to a shooting, sending one man to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to a Columbia police news release, at least two armed suspects broke into a home in the 200 block of Loch Lane and demanded money before shooting a victim inside multiple times. The suspects then fled.

Loch Lane is located near the intersection of Stadium Boulevard and West Broadway. The victim is in stable condition.

Police are investigating and encourage anyone with information to call 874-7652 or the anonymous Crime Stoppers line at 875-8477, or to go to the Crime Stoppers website.
