Shots fired in northeast Columbia home invasion Sunday

Shots were fired during an attempted home invasion in northeast Columbia Sunday night, police said. No injuries were reported.

A suspect attempted to force entry into a home on the 3200 block of Mexico Gravel Road, according to a Columbia Police Department news release. The occupant of the home then fired rounds from inside the residence, causing the suspect to flee on foot.

The suspect was described as a male wearing a mask and gloves.
