John Kane, 39, passed away at his home on Aug. 27, 2005.

He was born Aug. 6, 1966, in Coeur d'Alene, to Tom and Mary Lou Kane. John graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1985.

Soon after graduation, John moved to Anchorage, Alaska, and married his high school sweetheart, Kim Hunt, on Nov. 29, 1985. John and Kim returned home to Coeur d'Alene and had their first child, J Daniel Kane, on April 9, 1992. Their second child, Lina Kane, was born Dec. 14, 1995.

Since 1991, John had been a lineman and a line foreman at Kootenai Electric Cooperative, where he was known for his tremendous work ethic.

John loved to help family and friends with projects and could always be counted on when there was work to be done. He enjoyed working, camping, hunting, fishing and coaching his daughter's softball team. He especially enjoyed time with his fishing buddy and son, J.

John is survived at home by wife Kim, son J and daughter Lina; parents Tom and Mary Lou Kane, Coeur d'Alene; father- and mother-in-law Dale and Patty Hunt; brother Jim Kane and family, Post Falls, and brother Justin Kane and family, Hayden.

John will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

There will be a celebration of John's life at 1 p.m. Sept. 1 at Real Life Community Church, Post Falls. There will be a potluck in the pavilion at Q'emiln Park following the service.
