Kootenai Electric Trust distributes Operation Round Up Grants
Kootenai Electric Cooperative's Operation Round Up Trust Board granted its second quarter disbursement for 2009 funds. The Trust Board received 26 grant requests and awarded nearly $16,000 to 12 of the applicants. The following received funding:
$2,000 to Boy Scout Troop 338 to purchase camping supplies.
$1,900 to Mullan Trail Elementary to purchase chairs for the auditorium.
$1,769.28 to Twin Lakes Elementary to purchase a special education reading program.
$1,000 to Boy Scout Troop 217 to purchase camping equipment.
$2,500 to Camp Fire USA Inland Northwest Council to help rebuild bathroom/shower houses at Camp Sweyolakan on Lake Coeur d'Alene.
$750 to Community Action Partnership for the Circles Initiative, a community-based project to help end poverty.
$1,410 to the Hayden Senior GEMS for the development of a Web site for community events and activities.
$750 to North Idaho Christian School to purchase an audio/visual/DVD projector unit.
$816.88 to the Panhandle Autism Society to purchase a computer and printer.
$1,000 to the Post Falls Senior Center to help purchase a new furnace.
$1,200 to the Plummer Public Library to purchase a new computer and printer.
$900 to the Worley Senior Center to purchase a new freezer.
The next grant applications for Operation Round Up are due at the KEC office by Aug. 3. Applications are available in the office or at www.kec.com.
