POST FALLS -- Dani Meehan totaled 10 kills and 15 digs and Post Falls recovered after dropping the first game to beat Lake City 23-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-22 in 5A Inland Empire League play Tuesday night at The Arena.
Jalana White added 13 assists, nine kills and four blocks for the Trojans (3-1, 1-0 5A IEL). Andrea Mohney had four aces and four blocks, Tori Bertsch 13 assists.
"We were on our heels in the first game," Post Falls coach Willow Hanna said. "In the second game we got to the level we wanted to play, and kept going from there. Both teams made their fair share of errors; it took us a little while to find our groove."
Britta Forsythe and Jennifer Schuman had eight kills each for Lake City (2-0, 2-0). McKenzie Brown had 16 digs, Hilary Ayers 14 assists and five aces, Kelly Jo Cutler five blockes.
"We play good in spurts and bad in spurts," Lake City coach Bret Taylor said. "We just need to make sure our good spurts are longer than our bad spurts."
On Thursday, Lake City plays host to Coeur d'Alene, and Post Falls travels to Lewiston.

Coeur d'Alene
SANDPOINT -- Piper Wahlin, Koko James and Christina Johnson each had eight kills to lead the Bulldogs over the Vikings 25-16, 25-10, 25-12 in nonleague play at Les Rogers Court.
Johnson added 14 digs, and James and Ariel Moe each had nine assists for Sandpoint (2-0).
For Coeur d'Alene (1-4), Shae Carson and Kylie Curtis had four kills each, Curtis 11 assists, Emily Wise seven, Randi Spencer nine digs, Chelsea Rasmussen two blocks.
Coeur d'Alene plays at Lake City on Thursday.

PLUMMER -- Joelle Miller totaled eight kills, four aces and three blocks as the host Knights beat the Miners 25-18, 25-19, 25-20 in North Star League play.
Jennifer Mitchell had 30 assists and six aces for Lakeside (2-0, 1-0 NSL), which trailed in the first two games. Ruth Brunelle had eight kills, six digs and two blocks, Maria Garcia eight kills, six digs and two aces, and Jaycee Goudy eight kills.
"Joelle Miller really played well," Lakeside coach Jan Mitchell said, "and Jennifer's serves pulled us through in the first game."
For Wallace, Brandi Bilaski had 12 kills and four blocks, Monique Lemieux nine assists and three aces, Alissa Tatman seven digs, Amanda Pehan four blocks.
Lakeside plays at Mullan on Thursday.

HARRISON FLATS -- Chelsea Macumber had 13 kills and four aces as Clark Fork defeated Kootenai 25-12, 25-9, 25-13 in North Star League play.
Celeste Komanec had 20 assists for the Wampus Cats.
Gina Palmiter had four assists for Kootenai in its season opener. Erica Dombrowski had four digs, Britta Grubham three kills.
Kootenai plays host to Wallace on Thursday.

COEUR d'ALENE -- The front-line play of the Verhaeghe sisters and the back-row defense of Courtney Miles led the Panthers to their first win of the season.
Cara Verhaeghe had 16 kills and Emily added 13 as the Panthers earned a 25-17, 25-18, 21-25, 25-21 nonleague win over the visiting Tigers at Holy Family Catholic School.
Miles had 21 digs and setter Britni Turkenburg contributed 31 assists and four aces as the Panthers improved to 1-3.
"It's a step in the right direction," coach Joe Volkman said. "We had a more aggressive approach than in our previous games.
"Courtney's only 5-foot-2, but she's quick as a bee. She digs up everything."
Sydni Kotschevar had two aces for Mullan and Kami McKinnon had four blocks.
Coeur d'Alene Charter hits the road for its first two league matches of the fall, visiting Grangeville and Kamiah on Saturday.

LEWISTON -- Jordon Eborall scored in the first minute, Adam Borsheim added one in the ninth, and Coeur d'Alene rolled past Lewiston in 5A Inland Empire League play.
"We had good team play, got things going early," Coeur d'Alene coach Eric Louis said. "Our leadership was involved in the scoring early and we put together a real solid game."
Patrick Green added two goals for the Vikings (4-1-1, 1-1), who host Sandpoint on Saturday.

POST FALLS -- Dan Anderson scored an unassisted goal in the 23rd minute and added a penalty kick in the 27th to lead Sandpoint past Post Falls in nonleague play.
Post Falls' Wesley Billingslea scored in the 72nd minute with an assist from Nate Whalen.
"Sandpoint was tough as usual," Post Falls coach Gabe Lawson said. "We played flat against them in the first half, but we put them on their heels in the second."
Post Falls (2-1) hosts Northwest Christian of Colbert, Wash., on Thursday.

COEUR d'ALENE -- Hayley Smith assisted on the first goal less than three minutes into the game, and earned praise from her coach after the Vikings fended off the improved Bengals in 5A IEL play.
"Today we asked her to play multiple roles, and she rose to the challenge," Coeur d'Alene coach Tarragh Carr said. "We asked her to be a more vocal leader; she stepped up on winning punts from (goalkeeper) Christine Woeller, and she played forward and midfield."
Lewiston dropped to 3-1-1, 0-1-1.
"We had moments when we were moving the ball extremely well," Carr said. "But all in all, as a staff, we were not extremely impressed with our consistency."
Coeur d'Alene plays at Gonzaga Prep on Thursday night.

SANDPOINT -- Junior McKinzi Obaitek blasted in the game's only goal off an assist from Meghan Pagano in the 58th minute to lead the Bulldogs to a hard-fought nonleague win over the Trojans at War Memorial Field.
Sophomore goalie Bryce Clark had a couple of huge saves down the stretch to post her third shutout of the season for Sandpoint (4-2).
Sandpoint coach Adam Tajan lauded the much improved play of Post Falls (1-3), which mounted a furious attack to try and tie the game down the stretch.
"An exciting game right down to the wire. Post Falls was throwing lots of numbers forward and had a big push in the final 10 minutes," said Tajan of the Trojans. "They're a team that's going to turn some heads and impress some people this year."
Post Falls plays at East Valley on Thursday.
