“Traditions of Christmas” will return to Coeur d’Alene for the seventh time this holiday season.

The Radio City Music Hall-style holiday show is looking to cast 70 local singers between the ages 8 and 80.

“Traditions of Christmas” is brought to you by Laura Little Theatricals. Little is the producer of the off-Broadway production of the musical “All is Calm,” scheduled to open in New York City in November or December, as well as the Broadway co-producer of the Tony Award-winning “Peter and the Star Catcher,” “Come From Away,” which is currently on an international tour, and “First Date” starring Zachary Levi.

Little said she is excited about the opportunity that Traditions of Christmas provides to local talent that they may not have with other productions’ rehearsal schedules. Most roles in Traditions rehearse just once a week.

The show is in need of children, teens and adults with varying levels of abilities. Auditions will be held Aug. 26 and 27 at Expressions School of Performing Arts in Post Falls and rehearsals will begin mid- to- late September for most.

They are in need of adult and teen vocalists. No dancing required for these roles and they will rehearse on Monday nights.

Also needed are children between the ages 8 and 12. These roles require strong singing and dance skills and they rehearse on Monday evenings beginning in October.

There are several specialty roles available for adults and teens that require both dance and singing ability. The age range for these parts is approximately 17 to 32 and rehearsals are two times a week — Sunday and Tuesday evenings.

Although audition dates are Aug. 26 and 27, if someone is interested in being part of the show and unavailable for the scheduled audition date or time, please contact the organization for an alternate date.

“We are also looking for backstage help and seamstresses,” Little said. “While the 400-plus costumes have been created, we need some local tailors and seamstresses to help with fittings and alterations.”

“Traditions of Christmas” plays at the Kroc Center in Coeur d’Alene Dec. 7 to 23. Tickets are on sale now.
