Pedestrian seriously injured by distracted driver

A 77-year-old Spirit Lake woman suffered extensive injuries after being hit by a vehicle on Saturday.

Spirit Lake Police report that Catherine Graf was walking across Highway 41 around 2:20 p.m., in a marked crosswalk at Jefferson Street in Spirit Lake, when she was struck by a vehicle that was rear-ended by a distracted driver.

Graf remains in critical condition at Kootenai Health.

Spirit Lake Police Department has not released the names of the drivers involved in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
