Police in Coeur d’Alene have released a composite sketch of the man suspected of raping a woman April 10 at knife-point on N. 18th Street.

The woman told police investigators the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. after she had just returned home and was walking toward her house. The alleged suspect approached the woman and asked to speak with her.

“When he was close enough, he pushed her to the ground and threatened her with a knife. The male then sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing the area,” said a news release.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall with an average build. He had short, dark-colored hair and a dark-colored goatee.

At the time of the incident, the man was wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information related to this assault is asked to call the Coeur d’Alene Police Department at (208) 769-2320.
