BERGDAHL: No justice there

Print Article

This is a day that started out very nice, new fresh air with some snow and a light rain falling. It quickly became a day of regret. I could not believe my ears when the news reader informed me that Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl will only be given a dishonorable discharge and will not be serving any prison time.

Unbelievable; this piece of crap does not deserve to breathe the same fresh air that I enjoyed earlier. He deserted his post in the face of the enemy. He endangered his comrades when they searched for him in that war environment and some even were wounded by the enemy during this search.

President Obama traded five terrorists for this individual, then even invited and honored the Bergdahl family at the White House. I guess I could excuse Obama as this was the fourth or fifth time he jumped into a situation that later made him look like a fool. No, there is no excuse for Obama honoring Bergdahl and even having the White House aides praising him as a hero.

Back to Bergdahl, I have to watch what I say and how I say it because my letter may be printed in The Press and cuss words are not allowed. I am so disgusted at this decision, it besmirches my service and the honorable service of so many other veterans.

Veterans Day, November 11, a special day to honor our veterans will from now on remind me of this black mark. At a minimum he should have been given a life sentence and according to the Military Code of Conduct deserves the death penalty.
