Today’s ghastly groaner

Joe and Pete were sitting in a bar when the 10 o’clock news came on. The lead story was a man attempting suicide by jumping off a bridge.

Joe said, “I’ll bet you $20 he jumps.”

Pete said, “You’re on.”

Five minutes later, the man jumped and Pete handed Joe $20.

“No man, I can’t take this. I saw this on the 6 o’clock news.”

“So did I, but I never thought he’d be stupid enough to do it twice.”

— Jim Mowreader
