COEUR d'ALENE — There will be two Patriot Day remembrance ceremonies for the public in Coeur d'Alene today on the 17th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The Coeur d'Alene Firefighters Honor Guard will perform a ceremonial flag-lowering event at the Fallen Heroes Memorial at Cherry Hill Park at 10 a.m.

The ceremony will be brief and no speakers are scheduled.

There will also be a ceremony at the New York Piano Bar, 313 E. Sherman Ave., at 6 p.m. Local firefighters and law enforcement officers will attend the event.
