The 'Parade' goes on

The North Idaho Building Contractors Association’s Parade of Homes continues this weekend.
Thousands visited homes both in-person and online on Saturday and Sunday, the opening weekend.
“If you’re like me, you love to look at new homes and enjoy seeing the latest design trends, features and colors,” wrote Nancy King, 2021 NIBCA Parade of Homes chairperson. “Thos year’s home show is sure to delight you.”
The annual event that began in the late 1980s will feature 14 homes around Kootenai County that will be visited by an expected 5,000 people. Guests will see some of the finest custom-built homes in the area. The Parade of Homes is also a NIBCA fundraiser for programs, special events and scholarships.
One of the featured homes. virtual only, is “Shadow Ranch” by Creekside Construction. The four-bedroom, 4,694-square-foot home has high ceilings, wide hallways and a massive kitchen.
“The vision was to create a spacious open living concept without losing the ‘cozy feel,’” says the home description.
“The design of the master suite was to give the homeowner a sense of being away on vacation at a luxury spa,” it states.
Another home is “The Bighorn” at 6958 Downing Lane by Architerra Homes. The three-bedroom, 2,2260-square-foot home has third-car garage, spacious bedrooms, nine-foot ceilings and quartz countertops. “The Owner’s Suite invites yo to relax in the luxurious en-suite bathroom where dual sinks, a large fully tiled shower, walk-in closet, and soaker tub wait to sooth you,” the description says.
Mike Moore, 2021 NIBCA president, said the Parade of Homes is an annual fan favorite, “showcasing the best new residential homes of the season, latest advances in technology, and beautiful home decor trends.”
“Participating builders represent the very best that the local industry has to offer, and they are committed to excellence and dedicate to professionalism,” he wrote.
The Parade of Homes runs 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 to 4 on Sunday.
