RATHDRUM — No need to travel to Green Bluff or Coeur d’Alene for outdoor fall family fun this weekend. Rathdrum’s own Fall Festival takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m..

Hosted by Freedom Acres Ranch, 11590 N. Idaho Road, event coordinator Lisa Malcolm said the heart of the event is a desire to support small businesses and the community.

A free event, there will be over 100 vendors sprinkled across the 10-acre property on the Rathdrum Prairie. Mostly handmade goods will be offered from across the Inland Northwest. Dining options range from Mexican street corn to Hawaiian plate lunch.

With live music all weekend, a beer garden with local brewers, face painting and a petting zoo for the kids, there will be numerous activities to choose from.

A spring festival was held on the ranch property and had over 4,500 attendees.

“When venues closed last year for COVID, it really affected small crafters and vendors,” Malcolm said. “We hosted the event when everyone else closed down.”

She expects about 6,000 attendees this weekend.

There is no cost for parking. Details on vendors can be seen at the Freedom Acres Ranch Facebook page or by emailing freedomacrescda@yahoo.com.
