CDA 2030 has a newer vision for Coeur d'Alene.

The nonprofit on Thursday released its updated "Vision and Implementation Plan" for the greater Coeur d’Alene community.

New actions include a commitment to finding ways to preserve open space on the Rathdrum Prairie and support and expand community urban farming opportunities.

"CDA 2030 ensures the plan continues to move forward so greater Coeur d’Alene remains a great place to live, work and play," said JJ O’Dell, CDA 2030 executive director.

He said 46 nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, and community groups have committed to championing projects and programs over the next five to 20 years.

The CDA 2030 Implementation Plan defines 134 actions that map out how it aims to achieve the shared vision.

Successful actions from the previous plan include the Coeur d’Alene Skate Park that was completed in 2018, and Atlas Waterfront Park, which was completed last year.

CDA 2030 is also involved in "Project Neighborly," which recently announced grants totaling $45,000 in North Idaho to promote projects that create a more united and friendly community.
