The Celebration Ringers from Colorado Springs will perform a free handbell and violin concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 812 N. Fifth St., Coeur d'Alene.

The bell choir has presented concerts throughout the U.S. every June for the past 20 years, including a performance at Carnegie Hall. It is one of the premier choirs in the U.S. that plays almost every type of handbell using nearly every possible technique.

The bell choir is as entertaining to watch as it is to listen to. Concerts feature a wide variety of music from African to Australian, Czech to European and new American works as well.

Violinist Elisa Wicks, second chair of the Colorado Springs Symphony, will be a featured artist in the program. Wicks is the artistic director of Parish House Baroque in Colorado. Wicks received her bachelor's and master's degrees in violin performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music.

This high school and college bell choir is one of five handbell choirs at First Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs. The bell choir tour includes concerts in Montana, Idaho, Washington, Utah and Colorado. Director Joan Kuehn has been on staff at First Lutheran for 34 years. This will be her last tour with the Celebration Ringers.
