The 46th annual 5K fun run to benefit Tesh, Inc., is set for 9:30 a.m. Jan. 1 at Atlas Waterfront Park.

The race will be on the North Idaho Centennial Trail, past Riverstone Park to North Idaho College and back.

"Run, jog, walk or roll with our friends, neighbors, clients, families, and community business partners as we raise funds, and awareness, for the youth and adults with disabilities in our community," said a press release.

Cost is $35 but goes to $45 after today until Dec. 22. Then, it goes to $55. Register before Dec. 1 and receive a long-sleeved T-shirt.

Tesh is a nonprofit whose goal is to help those with disabilities develop independence and participation in their community."

The race for decades was known at the Hangover Handicap. It was 5 miles, attracted several hundred runners and went along Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive.
