COEUR d'ALENE — The Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber's 26th annual osprey cruise is set for Saturday, July 15, from 9 to 11 a.m. at The Resort Boardwalk Marina.

"This is your chance to explore the breathtaking beauty of Lake Coeur d’Alene’s Cougar Bay on the two-story Mish-an-Nock cruise boat," a press release said. "It's a unique opportunity to witness ospreys in their natural habitat, learn about their characteristics and observe their behavior up close."

The osprey is a type of fish hawk native to local lakes, known for returning to the same nests every spring with the same mate.

Wildlife experts will be onboard to offer insight and answer questions.

The event also features bird displays, exhibits, and participation from wildlife and Idaho lake habitat specialists, including the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, Bureau of Land Management and Inland Northwest Land Trust.

Ticket prices are $20 per adult, and children 12 and under accompanied by a paying adult are free. Family rates are $50 for two adults and three children up to 18. Tickets for seniors (62 and older) and students are $15.

Coffee and water will be available from the no-host onboard service.

"The event is expected to sell out fast, so register today to ensure your spot for this wonderful afternoon on our beautiful lake," the release said. "Don’t forget your camera, sunscreen, binoculars, sunglasses and a sun hat. Anchors away!"

The cruise is sponsored by the Natural Resource Committee of the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber in partnership with Lake Coeur d’Alene Cruises and Capt. Carl Fus.
