An anonymous caller led police to the discovery of several stolen firearms in a Dumpster.

Police received a telephone tip from a female that the guns stolen in the TKS Painting burglary on Jan. 29 were in a Dumpster near West Kathleen and Ramsey Road, according to a press release.

The female indicated they were the same guns that were reported in the newspaper as stolen in the burglary, then hung up.

Detectives found three shotguns, two rifles, and a .357 magnum handgun in the Dumpster at a car wash.

Two of the shotguns recovered were not reported stolen by TKS Painting. Detectives are trying to determine who owns those guns.

All of the weapons have been secured into evidence at the police department.

If anyone has any information on this crime, call police at 769-2320.

Why are we assuming its a mom. Could be a girlfriend or a co-defendant.

You bring up a valid concern, I Carry.

It's always good to be anonymous. Aren't there so-called "disposable" cell-phones (Cell Phones that you don't have to be bound to via contract, but instead use pre-paid cards)?

Unless you want a personalized/permanent phone, a "disposable" would seem to be the best bet. Keeps it simple and protects your identity.

It's pretty hard to be an "anonymous" caller in these days and electronics. Maybe in the days of pay phones, which are few and far between. I'm sort of certain somebody has the number that the call was made from. Gosh, I'm computer stupid and I even have caller ID.
Maybe Mommy is trying to not over load the jail?????
