It's official. The presidential election is pretty much decided.

Not because of savvy angles the candidates worked at the third debate. Not because of boosted campaign funding or icy TV ads.

The Halloween mask sales have got this one.

According to CNN Money, Halloween masks of President Barack Obama are outselling masks of Mitt Romney at Spirit Halloween stores nationwide by a 60 to 40 percent margin.

The mask sales have been an accurate election predictor since 1996, according to CNN.

So there you have it. Election over.

"It's a spark of hope," said Paula Neils, chair of the Kootenai County Democrat Central Committee, with a chuckle.

In Kootenai County, though, the outcome isn't looking so certain.

It's Romney's wrinkled visage that's outselling Obama's grinning mug at the Spirit Halloween shop on Appleway Avenue in Coeur d'Alene, said manager Jessica Combs.

"We only have one (left)," Combs said of the Romney masks.

Yet about 20 Obama masks were still sitting on the shelf on Wednesday.

Combs couldn't guess why, dismissing that "I just don't follow the politics" of mask sales.

But it could be a portend, said Neil Oliver, chair of the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee.

"Of course we have more Republicans here that are confirmed Republicans," Oliver said, figuring that reds are prone to don disguises that support their cause. "I'd like to think it's one of those things that will come into the election. Maybe we can lead them into a national trend."

He doesn't know anyone who has purchased rubber Romneys, he said.

But he welcomed how the mask tracking "does lend humor during these elections," he said. "That's a rare thing."

Neils too said she's glad to see a poll that makes everyone grin, even if it's only because they're wearing masks.

"I was working with a group of Republicans a couple days ago and they were pretty grim faced," Neils said. "I thought, 'That's really too bad.'"

The mask outlook is otherwise foggy in the area.

According to other costume stores in the region, neither presidential candidate mask is selling, period.

There have been zero requests for the masks at Golden Oldies Costumes in Post Falls, said owner Diane Wahls.

"People want to go out and have fun, not be controversial," Wahls said. "Nobody wants to get punched."

The popularity of presidential masks has been waning over the years, she added. Last year, she only sold four Obama masks, she said, and about the same for John McCain likenesses.

"Back when Reagan was in, it was very popular," she said of candidate masks. "The last few years, not so much."

Cinnamon Lane, supervisor at Goodwill in Coeur d'Alene, added that no presidential masks have come through at all this year.

There's just no demand, she said.

"Everyone seems to be going with super heroes," she said.

Even at Party Palace in Spokane, nobody is plucking the presidential masks that are displayed "in a really prominent spot," said co-owner Michelle Duncan.

"They're equally not selling," she said, adding that the last-minute rush this weekend could see otherwise. "It's like the election is kind of 50-50."

Neils said she's just intrigued to learn who's wearing the ones that do sell.

"We might find out the night of the election," she said.

*** 5 Days To Halloween, 11 Days to Elections; Dead Rise From Grave To Vote... Again! ***

With just 11 days till the Presidential election the Libtards are furiously digging up dirt and busy ressurrecting the dead in time to vote, just as they have done for decades.

While some may call the voting rolls stuffed with DEAD PEOPLE ghoulish, it's been a long standing tradition and important tool for libtard Dems in Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Frisco, Detroit or just about anywhere that the libtards control the political process.

Reports are rampant that hundreds of Acorn volunteers are scurring around City & County Cemeteries, taking graphite tracings and looking for recently departed that may not have re-registered as Democrats. "People that have voted Republican in life "ALWAYS" re-register as Democrats in death," said Al Sharpton.

Speaking of Dems "mailing it in", ACORN & SEIU spokesperson Bonequetta Shambone said, "We are proud that we have been able to swell the Dem voting rolls by canvasing the graveyards. We are even prouder that Democrat controlled New York was/is unable to get over 350,000 ballots to serving U.S. troops in time to vote. A majority of those folks vote Republican anyway."

On another front libtard Dems are working behind the scenes to make absentee ballot verification non-existent. "We don't feel that just because a welfare recipient can sign their welfare check, but can't otherwise read, write or fill out a job application, should have their absentee ballot(S) verified. That disenfranchises minority voters and besides, we believe they should vote early and often, " said Bonequetta.

"This is a close election and will be decided by a handful of votes, but I'm confident... I've got Ted's endorsement, and the rest of the Kennedy's, at least the dead ones," said Obama...

I see your point, RC, and concede it; too.

Now, on to "flashy" and "born in bonners".....
First, "birther", WE DON"T CARE if you "drop in on the blogs" or not.

And "fleshy", can't you PLEASE get the minority of communists like yuorself to just move out of state?
I mean, come on; Portland NEEDS you.

Born in Bonners........There's a great description of the Joe and Jeff "types" in Eric Hoffer's "The True Believer". As individuals they are nondescript but if they ever become part of a group or mob you want to go in the opposite direction.:)

You may never have the "opportunity" to meet them in person but there are probably plenty of people who already should feel....fortunate:)

JoeIdaho...I get it. Coulter is on the right side of most issues. But she says stupid and outrageous things in order to get attention. Four years ago she said she'd vote for Hillary Clinton over McCain because Clinton is more conservative than McCain. She said that John Edwards was a "fa__t". Or, how about, "If I'm going to say anything about John Edwards in the future, I'll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot." She said Jews need to be "perfected". She said, ""We need somebody to put rat poisoning in Justice Stevens' creme brulee." Now calling Obama a "retard". True conservatives don't need that kind of spokesperson. She's a bomb thrower.

There are excellent intellectual conservatives out there beating the conservative drum. She doesn't help the cause. She impedes it.

Yeah, I quit dropping in on these blogs because I got so sick of Joe Idaho and Jeff Wherley commenting on every single thing and having nothing to spew but unmitigated hate. They are consumed with it. I hope I never have to meet them in person. I would despise them on impact. Both of you need to get lives. Don't you ever go outside for fresh air? Go to the movies? Take your grandkids for ice cream? Do anything REAL? Just asking.

RC, right now, the mainstream media is literally coveirng up the fellow Americans' deaths in Libya.
At the same time, a man in Florida, a Veteran, had signs in his driveway for Romney burned to the ground, and a large "oboma forever" spraypainted on his lawn. That also won't make the news.
On the right, we continue to get literally run over by Demcrabs, and while I appreciate your candor in trying to "remain civil", the other side's use of whatever they can IS winning them votes, airtime, and usefulness.
So; while the left denigrates conservatives across the board, you concern yourself with Ann Coulter's using what literally amount to nothing words to describe the Pres & his cronies?
I have had kids that were challenged, in my family, too, but it doesn't bother me if somoene uses the phrase "retard" in an insulting way; UNLESS it's angled at someone who is. EVery day, people of all persuasions use phraseology about Gays, been happening for millenia, I can't change it, and it doesn't "bother me".
I think Coulter makes MANY valid points, every day, and it doesn't bother me an iota that she uses slurs. My thought is that we, as Conservatives, need EVERY voice we can get. As much as I dislike Harry Reid & Nancy, I duly HOPE that the left dislikes Ms Coulter.

I do speak my mind and say what I think. I don't need Coulter to speak for me.

I think the whole point is that Coulter is an educated woman, an attorney, an author, a TV personality, a professional as it were. Calling the president a "retard" lowers her to the likes of Bill Maher and Michael Moore. But if any of you are shocked by this, I'm shocked that you're shocked. She constantly uses slurs to describe opponents, comparing them to fags (John Edwards), etc.. And now calling the Pres (who I have NO regard for) a "retard"? Anybody who ever had a special needs child, sibling, or other family member and felt their pain knowing that they don't measure up no matter how hard they try would condemn her.

She's part of the idocy of which you speak, JoeIdaho. She's a partisan hack who just happens to be a conservative.

Ann Coulter DOES speak for me.
IMO, the reason we have the idiocy in this country today is because Conservatives allow themselves to get run over as they try to negotiate reason with demrats. IF we just spoke our mind, and say what we think instead of what we are told is "acceptable", we would be farther ahead as a nation and people.

The Richard Nixon mask has got to be the all time favorite. Well, precisely because Nixon was so much as a politician....much more fun than say....Mitt Ryan. I remember when Nixon was running for president in 68' and Richard Tuck, a democratic prankster, used a Nixon slogan "Nixon's the one" against him. Tuck had a very pregnant african american woman hold a very large sign saying "Nixon's the one" at one of his very white campaign rallies....great stuff really......

Ya know Jeff , all this concern with remaining on task here today makes you a "type"....your mannerisms have a familiar "ring" so to speak....and it dawned on me that you remind me of Captain Queeg in the Caine Mutiny, although I can't imagine you being played by Humphrey Bogart:)

When I read the stuff by Rogue cop and Jeffrey, I think do I really want to get involved in this blog....It is nothing but negative garbage. Obama has my vote and I think he has done a great job in many areas though I don't agree on everything he has done...........But I don't believe as Clinton said at the convention that anyone else including himself and any of his predecessors could have done any better. If Mitt gets elected at least he is a moderate and not someone like Palin, Perry, Bachmann, Gingrich, Trump or any of the others characters the Republicans put up during the primary season...

I'd love to vote for Jill Stein but our two-party system has stifled her so I will be voting for Obama unfortunately. I just can't bring myself to vote for Romney after doing research on the guy.

Uh, Jeff.......the victims of 9/11 could have been saved if the Bush administration had listened and dissected the intel they had at the time. But Bush ignored a critical presidential briefing in August of 2001. You see, his focus was on Russia not the jihadists at the time. It's not so "funny" that Mitt Ryan has it like de ja vu all over again in 2012:)

And Jeff....choose not chose and about the 2nd amendment. Federal and state governments can restrict, no, take away a person's gun ownership rights without EVER violating the 2nd amendment. They can also expand a person's gun ownership rights as should know all that even if you're not a constitutional attorney:)

Young people are not idiots. They see the trend. They know their goals. Obviously an Obama mask will result in more generous candy giveaways and handouts. They won't even have to say 'trick or treat'. They'll probably complain about having to go door to door because it is too much hard work. If reelected next fall we'll have 'Occupy Halloween' when the neighbors will be expected to deliver the candy to the kids houses.

If Oblahma gets another 4 years, he'll be responsible for more murdered Americans than Osama bin Laden, between Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and future attacks on Americans while he's asleep at the wheel of his golf cart. The Campaigner in Chief has had one thing on his mind since getting elected in '08 and that is getting re-elected in '12.

It's not difficult to understand why his administration lied about the attack in Benghazi. (1) Obama would have to acknowledge that Al Qaeda is not as diminished as he says they are, and (2) He would have to acknowledge that his administration dropped the ball on security for Ambassador Stevens and his entourage.

The Blamer in Chief has no one to pin this failure on. But he'll keep trying and the Obamamedia will keep carrying his water.

    Agree with Jeffrey, 100%.

"iwassam", I could CARE LESS what someone's backgorund IS, in terms of race or religion, but to purposely not call out what is reality is just stupid. RADICAL MUSLIMS are disgusting subhuman people, murderous, and (obviously) dangerous to all.

Let's see, blobama, the question is....
"Who murdered our (4) people INSIDE of an Embassy in Libya, the SAME country we HELPED gain it's independance from Quaddafi, on the date o 9/11/12?"
"Someone in America made a vile, despicable movie against Allah that we in no way endorse".

That's funny....the communists come out of the woodwork talking about "classy", using the DEATH of an Ambassador as their cover, while blowbama LIED to their families (and the ENTIRE PUBLIC) for 2 WEEKS about what actually happened to them.
That's because boobhama (Hussein) supports RADICAL MUSLIMS. He SURE didn't want to say out loud that it was Alquaida, MUST have been the bad white people in America who made a movie...yeah; that's the problem.
    So; in effect:
Someone in America made a moviee & put it on youtube, the direct, understandable result is radical MUSLIMS murder Americans, and the President apologized for this utterly classless video.

Then, we find out that the video played NO ROLE in the murders, and that hussein KNEW IT.
