A Coeur d'Alene produce vendor lost some limes, honey sticks and cash to a "skinny white male" who used a fake $20 bill to make a purchase at her business on Monday.

The suspect has brown hair and was wearing black pants and a red shirt with an iron cross on it, according to the Coeur d'Alene Police Department's incident report.

There were several customers in the store when the counterfeit bill was used by the suspect. The police report says that when he passed the owner the fake $20, the bill was folded and the owner did not examine it until the customer was gone - taking $17.88 in change with him.

The police investigator described the bill as being an odd color, on heavier paper than authentic bills and with uneven margins.

Last week, The Press reported that several counterfeit $20s were passed at a downtown bikini bar.

Actually these "fake" bills have just as much real value as the "real" counterfeit bills issued by the Federal Reserve that we all use and accept as "money". Why is it wrong and illegal for me or you or the skinny white male in the story to counterfeit money, but it's perfectly ok and legal for the bankers to do it?
