COEUR d'ALENE - Burglars tend to target jewelry, electronics and cash.
Booze works, too. Even bottles already opened.
A homeowner on the 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Coeur d'Alene told police that she believes someone entered her home and took four half-empty bottles of liquor.
That's it. Nothing else was reported missing.
The Coeur d'Alene resident called police Nov. 29 to report that she went to the Nov. 23 downtown Christmas parade and lighting ceremony about 4:20 p.m., and returned around 9.
"When she arrived at her house she realized someone had come in and taken four bottles of half empty alcohol bottles from the top of her refrigerator," the report said.
Bottles of tequila, rum, gin and margarita mix valued at $55 total were missing.
A roommate told police she "wasn't sure what night that was but she remembered coming home and attempting to unlock the door and the front door just opened."
