Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that crashed into a Post Falls police patrol car early Saturday and then fled the scene.
The collision occurred at 3 a.m. while Post Falls officers were conducting a DUI-related traffic stop on E. Seltice Way near the Post Falls Highway District office.
An unrelated vehicle traveling east on Seltice crashed into the rear of a Post Falls police K9 vehicle that was at the scene. The suspect vehicle then fled at a high rate of speed, and was last seen east on Seltice near the intersection of Commerce Loop.
Officers who were on the scene describe the suspect car as an early 2000 model, green or brown passenger vehicle. Damage to the vehicle would be on the left front side fender, possibly with white paint transfer on the damaged area. The estimated cost to repair the damage to the patrol vehicle is $4,000.
No officers were injured at the time of the collision.
The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office responded and will be conducting the crash investigation.
