COEUR d'ALENE - Tickets and room packages are now available for the 2014 Coeur d'Alene Blues Festival.
The festival, which takes place March 28 through March 30, will happen at several locations in Coeur d'Alene including The Coeur d'Alene Resort. This year's event culminates on Saturday, March 29, with five bands playing continuously on two stages at The Coeur d'Alene Resort Convention Center.
One of the featured performers will be award-winning vocalist and songwriter Curtis Salgado. Salgado recently won three awards at the 2013 Blues Music Awards, including artist of the year and album of the year. He first began playing professionally in the late 1960s, when he fronted a group called The Nighthawks.
John Belushi was inspired by the group's music, which led to the creation of The Blues Brothers.
Janiva Magness, who is among the premier blues and R&B singers in the world, will also be performing at the festival. Her earthy, raw voice has produced 10 albums and electrifying live shows.
Magness has been nominated for 22 Blues Music Awards and won six, including female artist of the year in 2013.
Other bands performing at the festival are: Randy Oxford Band with Polly O'Keary, Big Mumbo Blues Band, Sammy Eubanks and the All Star Jam, The Fat Tones, Kenny James Miller Band, Sara Brown Band, Anita Royce and the High Rollers featuring Forest Govedare, Bakin' Phat, and Kenny Andrews.
