COEUR d'ALENE - The North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force located a transient wanted for allegedly stabbing another transient earlier this week, Coeur d'Alene police said.

James H. Kountz, 56, was taken into custody at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday. Police said he was located in the same wooded area where the stabbing occurred Monday, on the east side of U.S. 95 behind the Coeur d'Alene Target retail store.

Kountz had an outstanding warrant for attempted second-degree murder.

The victim in the case, James R. Hoglen, 42, originally of Reno, Nev., was in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries Wednesday night.

Motorists reported seeing a man stagger out of the densely wooded area, cross over the northbound lanes and collapse on the grassy divider in the middle of the highway.

The wooded area is sometimes inhabited with transient camps.

Why is this guy out of jail? Why hasn't he been executed a long time ago. Why are homeless, convicted murderers allowed to just run free?

Oh yeah so "they" can justify all their gun laws and restrictions, and have all of their registering systems to keep up with the perverts and keep all the power and control. And MONEY. To much money to be made on rearrest.

Mostly the power and control which they justify because they don't execute murderers and child rapist.

    Idaho Guy,

If he escapes, maybe law enforcement will offer a reward to locate him. Naybe like the FBI, where you could just call LE and tell them WHERE the guy is and cash in.
