Jim Brannon stopped by The Press office this morning and told The Press he has no intention of seeking any of the City Council seats.

Brannon, a one-time prospective mayoral candidate, announced earlier this week he wouldn't run for mayor because it would split the vote.

Some thought he might switch his run for a council seat, but Brannon, known for his narrow loss to Mike Kennedy and ensuing court case from the 2009 election, said today he won't.

It's a shame. This almost guarantees a clone in at least one seat.

to be a good leader you have to be a free thinker, someone who can see things from different angles

Had Kennedy not sued his way into winning the 2009 election, he'd already be a great councilman.

Thank you for sharing Cda. Press. I respect Mr. Brannon's decision. However, I thought he would be a great councilman.
