COEUR d'ALENE - Here comes the bridal show.
The fourth annual Inland Northwest Bride Expo takes place Thursday, Feb. 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the new Hagadone Event Center. According to Andreas John, the event manager, this fourth rendition will be the best.
Why? Location, location, location.
"We're so lucky to have it this year at the Hagadone Event Center," John said. Holding up a diagram of HEC, he added:
"Picture this - this whole wall is glass. When you walk in you'll get a gorgeous view of the sunset, and when it gets dark the fashion show kicks in."
Like its predecessors, the Inland Northwest Bride Expo offers free admission, free hors d'oeuvres and free parking.
John said entire bridal parties are welcome to sample wedding cakes, hear music, meet photographers and talk to wedding experts.
"You could literally plan your entire wedding in one day," he said.
John dispelled the myth that this bridal show is only for the wealthy.
"This one is for everybody," he said. "You don't have to be looking for the $25,000 or $30,000 wedding. At this expo you'll find a lot of valuable information for a wedding that meets every budget."
Among the 30 vendors attending are three businesses - Storybook Bridal, Rianne's Bridal and Tuxedo Gallery - who will stage the fashion show at 6 p.m. J Miller Salon will provide hair styling and makeup for the fashion show models. The show lasts about 30 minutes, John said.
While the expo's three-hour window is intended to pack a lot of information into a relatively short time, John said that isn't the event's only goal.
"We want everybody to feel comfortable and have fun," he said.
