By a show of online hands, only 16 percent of readers think The Press is neither too conservative nor too liberal.

The rest see it as one or the other, and the majority think it's too liberal.

The most recent Press poll asked, "From a political bias viewpoint, how do you view The Press?" Here's how readers voted:

• Too conservative: 399 votes (36 percent)

• Too liberal: 529 votes (48 percent)

• Just right: 176 votes (16 percent)

This is North Idaho --- the monthly newsletter of the John Birch Society would be judged "too liberal", if Ayn Rand herself had written it!

An interesting angle. The problem with the question is the word, "too."

Every reporter is different just as every child is blond, brunette or redhead. The hiring process draws people of Liberal belief. It is a white-collar industry, not a blue-collar industry. The mindset is necessarily different, the result of heritage, parenting and experience.

We have to understand that and live with it. For those of us who are not Liberals or Democrats or Left-Wing Extremists, we just have to get over it and slog on.

The existence of bias is actually a good thing as it forces us to address issues directly rather than to blindly accept what we are told.

Some Liberals hate and badmouth me. There is no point in hating back.

On the Liberal Is A Mental Disease Scale, the Press is still like Genghis Kahn compared to DFOs Huckleberries Looney-Left Blog.

Another meaningless/non-scientific poll drives the Press!

    Yay?
