Hagadone Hospitality has announced a new entertainment venue in downtown Coeur d'Alene.

Located on Sherman Avenue next to Tito Macaroni's Restaurant, the new venue will be open seven nights a week, and will also tailor special events to corporate or individual requests.

"This will be a fun, classy and entertaining place to enjoy the atmosphere of downtown Coeur d'Alene," said Jerry Jaeger, president and co-owner of Hagadone Hospitality.

It will have indoor and outdoor seating along Sherman Avenue, as well as multi-level seats surrounding the dance floor.

"Here, you can go casual on the sidewalk, be at the heart of the party on the dance floor, or relax in one of our VIP booths," said Bill Reagan, general manager of The Coeur d'Alene Resort.

Patrons can select their beverage preferences from a full bar, and dine from a simple lounge menu. Live bands are booked for weekend entertainment, with DJs providing music at other times. The high-tech sound system will be the finest in North Idaho, Jaeger said.

The Shore Lounge, a bar and entertainment center in The Coeur d'Alene Resort, will close when the new facility opens and be converted into additional meeting, reception and banquet space.

Tito's restaurant, which adjoins the new venue, will have a re-designed interior, menu and other features.

With this added space, as well as the new Hagadone Event Center set to open in July at The Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course, Hagadone Hospitality significantly increases its facilities for convention and group business.

"With more space, we can bring larger groups and more business to town, and help to stimulate the economy," Jaeger said. "That is the goal of our chairman, Duane Hagadone, and this will be another positive step in that direction."

The new entertainment bar - with a name yet to be unveiled - is scheduled to open in June and will be a design/build project by CPI, said John Barlow, president of Hagadone Real Estate.

    out with the old....
the resort is, in essence, changing hands. it has been a few year process.
they took their most recent nosedive when Paul G "left" and they purged all of their experienced staff and management to cut spending and hired folks that would tend to the place as it ran into the ground...which it did.
tomkat was only easily able to identify the specific managers, who were part of the revolving door, by their ethnicity...unfortunately and without connection to their ethnicity, he was pretty correct in his description of their negative attributes....but you must remember that at a certain point these managers realized that they were set up to take a fall and the worst of them came out in anger and frustration...i met them and felt bad for them. they are not bad people as far as i know.
the "new" look shore and resort will do it "right". they will rise again, they ALWAYS have...it will go in yearly cycles as it has since it opened.....maybe the "new" management has learned not to use people so badly...even the "new" look resort is ultimately run by a couple guys involved with standing by or being a part of the old ways...they are not gone but we can watch them and see if they are still capable of being better.

...i tend to be an optimist.
i wish the town and the resort well
i was also on the payroll for several years

I don't understand what the negative uproar is all about. The Shore Lounge was in need of a remodel and some changes to bring people back in. For the resort to put their 'nightclub' in a more reasonable location for CDA's night crowd, instead of a supposed "luxury" resort, than fine by me! And TomKatt- you sound particularly racist. Calling out their staff for being Asian, Hispanic, and Phillipino (sounds like you don't know the difference from your post) I think it has nothing to do with that. It could have somethig to do with a 22 year old being The Shore Lounges manager. He's legally been able to drink for a year yet somehow he was given the responsibility to run one of CDA's most popular bars? Who made that decision!? Either way, the change of location doesn't bother me. The people complaining do!

I never said you were poor yourneighbor. And so what if you were. A man's wealth certianly doesnt make him a good or a happy man. I made much more than Idabilly's assistant manager as a bartender and server over there 15 years ago! So I'm not sure I believe your new employee's story. That's not important however... What is important is that person wasnt happy with their employment so they got a new job! That's the nice thing, no one forces a person to work for Hagadone, WalMart, or any of the other large employers in the area. They choose to. Neighbor... Congradulations on your massive contributions to the city and for your nice lakefront home. You're obviously proud!

idabilly You hit the nail on the head. In the past five years I personally have hired at my business 11 people who are ex employees of Hagadone. I offer them a living wage .Triumph that just might be the reason I am not filthy rich I share my wealth. My wife and I realized you cant take it with you many many years ago. Oh yeaTriumph I look at that resort from across the lake . I must not be as poor as you think.Heatherfeather the answer to your question"What have you done for your city?"is so simple. More than you could imagine...............

I answer that. Nothing. I have done nothing. And some how that is a bad thing? If you think that the resort is better than the saw mills and mines that used to employ people around here at an actual living wage I disagree. The tourist trap that has become Cda is all this town is anymore. Another reason I am getting out of here. I don't care what they do to this town. It's already too late. It's demise has already been started. The smart ones sold out and found greener pastures. I am going to join them....

@triumph: Hear! Hear! I've worked for a couple Hagadone companies and they are first rate. Moving the Shore will aid Sherman's block party atmosphere while enhancing the relaxing atmosphere at the Resort. I would like to ask the people who complain about Mr. Hagadone spending hundreds of millions of HIS OWN MONEY here in CDA: "What have you done for your city?"

Well, closing The Shore really sucks, it is easily the nicest nightclub in N Idaho, especially with the great fireplace in the main hall for quiet conversation breaks.

It was not that long ago that there was a waiting line to get in on weekends, and yes, I know the current horrible management has rendered it only 10-15% full anymore, but the solution is to hire capable people that know how to run a nightclub, and get off this silly affirmative action kick, a Chinese woman manager who was apparently retarded, then a Mexican manager who spends all his time trying to molest White women, a Filapino (I guess) DJ who hates White people, refuses to take requests, and intentionally cuts songs off short when a lot of people start dancing, mean-spirited bi***y waitresses, etc, etc,

The Shore used to be in the top 5 venues in Idaho for alcohol sales, and could be again with GOOD ROCK BANDS, (and let people know with advertising that the bands are back) and good management, which is what the resort upper mgmt should try, because if they have the same rum-dums running this new nightclub, it will be a bust....

I worked for Hagadone for 5 years when I was going to college. I worked hard, got promoted, and I was paid well! Anyone who works for the Hagadone company has opportunity to do well if they work hard and take pride in their work. Oh by the way my wife worked there for years also and she really liked her job. It's obvious that mr. yourneighbor is bitter toward the wealthy. Like it or not, there are hundreds of folks who have jobs because of Hagadone. He brings money here from out of town which is important to our local economy. Sure there are folks who have worked for Hagadone and not worked hard, or missed work and never got anywhere. Those same folks would have done just as poorly at any place of business for any wadge. They are unmotivated, entitlement minded, lazy, ect...

These guys have been doing an awful lot of talking lately about how they are stimulating the economy...I really don't see how this is doing so. Perhaps the Hagadone Corporation should pay their employess a decent wage, thus putting more cash in the employees pockets so they can go buy more drinks at the relocated Shore Lounge and complain to each other about how miserable they are cause the work for Hagadone...its a vicious cirlce...but it works...
