The Coeur d'Alene Press staff would like to hear from our readers about the haunted places of North Idaho.

A story is now being developed to be published just before Halloween sharing the creepy details about these places. And frankly, when the story is done, we want our readers' hair standing up a bit.

Do ghosts, spirits and demons haunt homes and buildings in our area? We believe for some of our readers the answer to that question is a definite yes.

We have in the past heard that places such as the Clark House on Hayden Lake, The Bates Motel on Sherman Avenue in Coeur d'Alene, and the Brig at Farragut State Park are haunted.

For those who believe, we are simply asking for the details.

We want to tell readers why the ghosts and spirits have chosen a particular home or building, and, most importantly, how they are making their presence felt.

We also want to know how this paranormal activity affects the lives of those in our community who live with it.

No place is too small, and no ghost, demon or spirit it too scary.

If you have a haunted place to share, please contact reporter David Cole at (208) 664-8176, extension 2015.

Fly, it you are a sensitive, as am I, you probably avoid crowds. In crowds, you find more people with dark auras and that is oppressive. I never go anywhere where there are crowds.
Our ghost in the nightclub was a benevolent one. He had a great sense of humor although throwing the dog out of his chair was a bad joke, but all in all, the ghost wasn't threatening. He actually seemed to protect us.
However, the worst encounter with a bad spirit was in Spokane in the late 60s. My husband and I were invited to a house on the south hill of Spokane. We walked in, sat down, and we looked at one another and just left. Didn't say goodbye, or excuse us, just left. The feeling was the worst I have encountered in a house. I don't know what happened there or what was in that house, but it was one of my worst experiences.
Also there are some people that have such bad auras, I cannot stand to be in the same room with them. I have encountered two. I also "know" things about people, events that will happen, things that are happening and things that they have done or been in the past. Sometimes I wish I didn't know.
I have also encountered a person, just met, who seemed like an old dear loved friend. We had a connection that I cannot explain. It was as if our souls were connected immediately.

I see things out of the corner of my eye all the time, but every so often I SEE things. I'm in different places, different cities and with every place is a different populous. I've been in hundreds of (older) homes in this area and I will say this much, Kellogg and Wallace dwellings have the weirdest auras I've ever seen or felt. Too much to describe. EEWWW-WUH, is all I can say about them there places.

The nicest motel in town (no names, like Ziggy...ne-naw) has a ghost that the current (new) owner would like to be rid of. I've done work in one particular room twice. A disjointed, upsetting flux of negativity made both experiences unusually difficult, complete with the out-of-the-corner-of-the-eye movement and that horribly odd temporally malignant anger that persisted when I was actually in the room. Both times completing my project seemed as though nothing would go right...nothing worked normally, as if EVERYTHING was jinxed.

Anyway...during this recent encounter the housekeeper overheard me talking to the superintendent after I (finally) finished installing that carpet and we were moving furniture back into the room and I was (jokingly) telling him about the bizarre chaos therein. That guy didn't want to talk about it. The housekeeper approached me on the sly afterward and told me the ex-owner's daughter lived in that room, died in that room, was a miserable curmudgeon and every tenant that has stayed in that motel room has had issues, often violent. This person told me a few stories and I firmly believed her. I told her, "First off...that recliner has got to go."

The lady welled up in tears and said to me..

    "It was her prized possession."

    Creepy...

When very young, I went to work for someone who owned a nightclub in Kootenai County (I won't say where). The first day I was sitting in the middle of the room in the middle of the day with the owner when we heard footsteps in the balcony which sounded all the way around the large room. The owner just laughed it off. As I worked there, I would get the feeling of someone watching me. Then I saw a person sitting at the end of the bar nursing a drink. When I looked back the person was gone. Over the years I saw him sitting at a table, sitting at the bar, and in the ladies' restroom. Kids and women would come out and say, "there's a man in the womens' restroom." Everyone who worked there was familiar with the ghost. He didn't seem to be threatening but he had a wild sense of humor. He threw one of the dogs off a chair halfway across the room. He turned on the faucets almost every night and twice knocked glasses to the floor. One time during the day we had a particularly ugly customer. I said to the ghost, hey can you get rid of this guy for me? Right at that moment the customer got a strange look on his face, put his drink down and walked out.
When the owner sold the business and we all moved on, the new owners called the police numerous times as they thought someone was prowling around or had broken into the building. No one was ever found and the doors were locked. Some months later, the place burned down. We often wondered if the ghost just didn't like the new owners and decided to do away with the place. There is a new building on the site. I wonder if the ghost is still there or if he went down in flames with the old building.

Jake old boy you take something from an admitted anti-liberal online rumor mill rag then paraphrase even that so fit your needs. Maybe you missed the resent stabbing on E Sherman involving two people identified as transients which just might be the type of thing the person only identified as eagle eye was referring to.
I do have to say you are getting almost as good as your candidates of choice at twisting things then putting them forth as fact.

    Jake:
Are you referring to the Transients on East Sherman when you say "the people of this fine City?"
Whomever eagle eye is, he/she is spot on about East Sherman being an "infested mess", have you driven down East Sherman lately?

    Jake1776:
I don't know or care who eagle eye is, but after reading many of his/her posts I agree with him/her! Straight forward and honest view points. What is wrong with that?

If you are so concerned with who an anonymous poster is jake1776, reveal yourself.

I don't know about Paranormal activity ... but I have heard that someone running for mayor called some of the people of this fine city a " %#%$ infested mess" ... and nobody at the CDA Press has reported on this?? If you guys are trying so hard to get news that you have to ask about paranormal sightings, try asking Mr. Widmyer who "Eagle Eye" is. Hint: alter ego ... and I understand someone in this town has posted his comments all over another website.
