Two Kootenai County men were injured during a truck crash in Whitman County, Wash., on Tuesday morning and flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center via Medstar helicopter for treatment.

The driver, Jessy A. Johnson, 25, Spirit Lake, was still in the emergency room and being evaluated late Tuesday afternoon. The passenger, Mathew R. Davis, 28, Athol, was in satisfactory condition. Neither were wearing a seatbelt.

According to Washington State Patrol, the two were southbound on Highway 195, milepost 28, at 8:53 a.m. when the 1999 International truck with a trailer left the roadway, was overcorrected and rolled one and a half times, ejecting both Johnson and Davis.

Police said inattentive driving was the cause of the crash. Charges are pending. Drugs or alcohol was not a factor.
