POST FALLS - An unidentified woman died after falling from the rock climbing wall in Q'emiln Park on Friday evening.

The Post Falls Police department responded to a medical emergency report around 9:30 p.m. Officers contacted the reporting party, who led them to the area where the female had fallen. She was discovered a short time later and had fallen about 50 feet to the rocks below, a department news release said.

Kootenai County Fire and rescue arrived on the scene and began medical aid. Authorities said the female had major trauma from the fall and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

PFPD detectives responded and the investigation continues, although authorities said there does not appear to be any foul play.

The deceased female's identity was being withheld until relatives were notified.
