COEUR d'ALENE - The Northwest Sacred Music Chorale Christmas Concert will be held on Wednesday with performances at 5 and 8 p.m. at the Kroc Center in Coeur d'Alene.

The cost is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $12 for students and children. Tickets are available at 661-0585, nwsmc.org, Great Harvest Bread Company, Northwest Academy of Music, First Presbyterian Church and at the door.

The program includes J.S. Bach's "Cantata No. 54," featuring the Pacific Northwest debut of lyric tenor Charles Sorensson.

There will be traditional and contemporary carols. The program will also include: Tom Carnegie on bagpipe, the Spokane Area Youth Choir, percussionist Marty Zyskowski, Irish dancers the Turner Sisters, and a brass quartet.

The ensemble of the chorale will perform the Fred Waring version of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas."

Sorensson has sung and studied in the Italian bel canto style in several countries. His background includes musicals, opera and jazz, as well as working with the National Cathedral Choir in Washington, D.C. He is best known as a guest artist and classical soloist for such works as Handel's "Messiah."

NWSMC, a nonprofit with 70 members from the Inland Northwest, started in 2001.
