POST FALLS - A 37-year-old Post Falls woman was arrested on a misdemeanor prostitution charge on Friday after a police sting operation at the Riverbend Inn in Post Falls.

Mistie Bennett was booked into the local jail and posted $300 bond the same day to be released.

Prostitution is a misdemeanor until the suspect is convicted for the third time, which triggers a felony.

Police said they received an anonymous tip that Bennett was conducting her alleged business through a classified ad website.

An undercover agent set up a time to meet Bennett at the hotel while other officers awaited in the next room during the wired sting operation, according to a police report

When asked if she considered herself a prostitute, she said no because she's an "escort" that only charges for "time," the report states.

Based on Bennett collecting $200 in the room and other evidence, Bennett was arrested, the report states.

PFPD if you are looking for a money maker just join ISP on HWY 95 between Garwood and Athol.
It is quite the shame they have going on that section of highway. At least we KNOW that ISP is not short on troopers. Today they had four working a 1 mile stretch. The same 1 mile stretch that is divided 4 lane highway. Too bad they cant spare an trooper for any other roads.

Meh. Just because something is declared illegal by the prude squad doesn't mean it's wrong. Just look up jury nullification.

Illegal? Perhaps you have not noticed, but nearly everything is illegal nowadays.

    The issue is FREEDOM.

Daily we live under far more tyranny than that which sparked the American Revolution. We are taxed into the ground, and who is truly represented?

Not me, I have never had anyone represent me.

Keven Johnson ....you are forgetting something...Prostitution is still illegal! No rule of law leads to anarchy not freedom.

Thank you hiway 90 for some common sense on the issue.

So why is this any different than meeting up on ANY website, the guy paying for her drinks, dinner, a movie, etc and the bill coming to $200 and then get a hotel room and have S3X? Or visa verse?

hiway90; If we truly have liberty, that means we own our own bodies. If we own our own bodies, then we are free to do as we please as long as our actions do not harm another. I certainly don't think prostitution is a good idea, and would advise against engaging in it. But if it is done between two consenting adults it is really no concern of mine or anyone else.

More than a waste of time and money, this is another example of something that is not a crime and should not be illegal. If we truly had freedom as we are told we do, this would be a non issue. And why is it legal to have sex for money if the act is filmed for a movie, but illegal to have sex for money if it isn't filmed?

@hiway90: Sounds like you're "in the know over," at the PFPD. Please share with the rest of us how this high-level op went down and how this bust is going to have any real impact what so ever. Maybe there are too many departments at the PFPD? If this is the best use of their time perhaps a reduction in staff is in order! Are they getting ready to bring Idaho's Tony Montana down?
