A 12-year-old's hunting bow set and 10-12 silver 1-ounce coins were stolen from an Athol home sometime on Oct. 25.
According to a Kootenai County Sheriff's Office incident report, the homeowner returned home from work at 4 p.m. on Oct. 25 and noticed "someone had taken his daughter's shoes and pinned them under her closed door."
When the resident left for work in the morning the door was left open, and he told the deputy that after he noticed the pinned shoes he discovered that his son's compound bow set, valued at $200, was missing from the hook from which it normally hangs.
The investigating deputy asked the resident if anything else was missing or out of place from his home and he told the deputy that there was a plastic lawn chair positioned under his bedroom window. Later the resident noticed that the silver coins were missing from a clay jar, and although he could not provide investigators with many details regarding the coins, he said that seven to nine of them were "Indian Buffalo troy ounce silver coins." The value of the coins is estimated to be $250.
