Compete Rams to host

Nelson, B.C. this weekend

COEUR d'ALENE - The Compete Hockey Academy Rams will host Nelson, British Columbia, for two games on Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 9:15 a.m. at Frontier Ice Arena, located at 3525 W. Seltice Ave.

The newly formed Midget-level Tier 1 team is comprised mostly of local players under the age of 17 from the Coeur d'Alene and Spokane area. Coach Cam Severson is a former Spokane Chief of the Western Hockey League and played with the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL, and now directs Compete Hockey Academy, including the academy's select team.

Christensen tied for fourth

after second day of amateur

DUPONT, Wash. - Post Falls native Bob Christensen is tied for fourth after shooting a 3-over 75 in the second round of the Washington Senior Men's Amateur Championship on Wednesday.

Christensen, who shot a 72 on the first day of the tournament on Tuesday, is tied with 2010 champion Keith Crimp of Ellensburg and Paul Harris of Vancouver at 147.

Tom Brandes of Bellevue leads the tournament with a two-day total of 142.

Play was delayed over two hours due to early morning fog and concludes today at The Home Course (6,192 yard, par-72).
