Vandal men to have five

basketball games televised

MOSCOW — The University of Idaho men’s basketball team announced that at least five of the team’s games in the 2012-13 season will be broadcast on television.

The Vandals will have two games on ESPN, with the possibility of one more, according to a press release by the Western Athletic Conference. The team’s trip to Louisiana Tech on Thursday, Jan. 17 will be shown on regional television, as will the team’s matchup against Utah State at the Cowan Spectrum on Thursday, Jan. 31.

The Vandals will have one more opportunity for a national broadcast at the WAC tournament, with the championship game to be shown nationally on ESPNU on Saturday, March 16 at 8 p.m. Idaho’s border battle with Washington State will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network on Wednesday, Nov. 28 in Pullman.

Two more regular season games will be broadcast on ROOT Sports — the WAC opener against Seattle University in Seattle on Saturday, Dec. 29 and against the University of Denver on Feb. 16 in Denver.

Warrior men 6th, women 9th

in latest NAIA cross country poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Lewis-Clark State College men’s cross country team moved to sixth nationally in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll, with the women now ranked ninth in the latest poll.

The Warriors were idle last week, but return to action Saturday at the Erik Anderson Invitational in Spokane.

Jacob Wimpenny of Post Falls High and Nick Pierson of Coeur d’Alene are on the men’s team.

The men received 479 points in the poll of head coaches nationwide, with the women receiving 398 points.
