YOUTH BASEBALL: Lumbermen, Twins split in league play

LEWISTON — The Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen bounced back after dropping the first game 7-4 to beat the host Lewis-Clark Twins 8-6 in the second game of a North Idaho League class AA doubleheader at Harris Field on Tuesday.

Further details were not available.

Coeur d’Alene (33-8, 11-1 NIL) is scheduled to host the Spokane Crew in a single game tonight at 7 at McEuen Field.

POST FALLS — Tuesday’s class AA North Idaho League American Legion baseball doubleheader pitting the Trail Jays at Prairie Cardinals was postponed due to a threat of thunderstorms.

It has been rescheduled for Monday starting at 3 p.m.

Post Falls 8, Hayden 4: Kodie Kolden hit a two-run home run in the first inning for Post Falls, which went on to win the “if-necessary” game to advance to the best-of-3 state playoffs at the Charles F. McDevitt Youth Complex in Meridian. Post Falls will play a District 2 team on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday if necessary. Jackson Sumner hit a three-run home run over “Big Red” in left field for Hayden, and Keaton Howard followed with a solo shot.
