Coeur d'Alene football camp: Coeur d'Alene High coaches and players will provide instruction at a football camp for grades 5-8 July 30-Aug. 1 at Coeur d'Alene High.

Cost is $50.

Crush at regionals: The Coeur d'Alene Crush '97 placed second out of 11 teams at the 14-and-under "A" regional tournament last weekend at the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex in Spokane.

The Crush beat the Spokane Crash 9-2, then lost 10-9 to the Snohomish Shock in an international tiebreaker.

The Crush then won five straight games (beating Crush '98 9-1, the Bitterroot Sparks by forfeit, the Northwest Widfire 9-1, the Washington Angels 9-6, the Lake Breeze 9-0 and the Snohomish Shock 11-8) to get into the championship, where they lost to the undefeated Northwest Sidewinders 8-6.

The Crush is headed to Sioux Falls this weekend to play in the 14U "A" Super Nationals next week.
