VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Jordan Leyland went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs to lead the Vancouver Canandians past the Spokane Indians 12-7 in Northwest League play Monday night in front of 2,451 at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium.
Spokane put four runs on the board in the top of the second, when Cam Schiller followed Gabriel Roa's 2-RBI single with an RBI double.
But the Canadians (22-15) answered in the bottom of the frame in a big way. Leyland had an RBI triple before coming to the plate again later in the inning and belting a 2-run double in the 9-run inning.
The Indians (12-26) cut into the lead in the sixth, as two runners scored on Schiller's bases-loaded groundout. Royce Bollinger added an RBI single to make it 9-7 Vancouver.
The Canadians added two in the eighth to seal the win.
The Indians move on the Pasco to face the Tri-City Dust Devils tonight at 7:15.
