SPOKANE - Nathan Collier went 3 for 4 and hit an RBI triple in the seventh inning as the Prairie Cardinals beat Lethbridge (Alberta) 5-2 on Friday morning at Ferris High to conclude play in the Senior Division of the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene Wood Bat Classic.

Tyler Shaffer went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBI singles for Prairie (15-12), which finished 1-4 in the tourney.

"We only walked two batters - that was pretty much the difference in today's game," Prairie coach Dustin Frank said. "We've been playing pretty good ball ... it was good for us to see good competition."

Prairie plays host to Coeur d'Alene on Monday in a 3 p.m. doubleheader at Post Falls High.

In today's Senior Division semifinals at Avista Stadium in Spokane, the Tri-County Outlaws play Bellingham Post No. 7 at 11 a.m., followed by Chino (Calif.) Red vs. the Kennewick Bandits at 1:30 p.m. The winners play in the title game at 4.

COEUR d'ALENE - Colin Comack drew a bases-loaded walk with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning to force in Jesse O'Hagan with the game-winning run as the Lumbermen beat their North Idaho League foe to wrap up play in the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene Wood Bat Classic at McEuen Field.

O'Hagan reached on an error to open the ninth, and advanced on a sacrifice by Kolby DeHaas. Grant Curtis doubled, but O'Hagan was only able to advance to third. Joe Roletto was intentionally walked, and one out later, Comack stepped to the plate.

Coeur d'Alene coach Lloyd Duman praised the pitching of starter Sean Sutton, who went the first 6 1/3 innings. Duman said it was nice to end the tourney on a positive note after the Lums dropped a pair of 7-5 decisions on Thursday, which eliminated them from advancing to the quarterfinals.

"Yesterday (Thursday) we came out so flat, and it just continued all day," he said. "For playing flat and still being in the games, it was a frustrating day."

Coeur d'Alene (25-5) returns to action Monday with the doubleheader at Prairie.

COEUR d'ALENE - The Coeur d'Alene Lumberjacks under-16 team beat the Coeur d'Alene Lakers U16 squad 6-5 on Friday at Lake City High to wrap up tourney play for both teams at the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene Wood Bat Classic.

The Lakers (13-12) and the Lumberjacks (20-6-1) are scheduled to meet again in a doubleheader Sunday at 5 p.m. at McEuen Field.

The Coeur d'Alene Loggers concluded tourney play with a 3-1 loss to the University Titans at Lake City High. Dan Bryant went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI for the Loggers (11-11), who are scheduled to play a doubleheader Monday at Orofino.

Other finals from Lake City: Okotoks Dawgs 7, Columbia Basin River Dogs 7, 10 inn.; Eagle Vipers 10, Northwest Christian Crusaders 2; and Boise Barons 14, Rogers Pirates 1.

In the semifinals today at McEuen Field, Woodinville Baseball plays the Spokane Dodgers White at 9 a.m., followed by the Okotoks Red vs. the Eastlake Tigers at 11:30. The winners meet in the championship game at 2 p.m.
