JoAnn Beverly Peters, 82

JoAnn Beverly (Santora) Peters, 82, passed away Oct. 31, 2017 at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. JoAnn was born Jan. 31, 1935 in Spokane, Wash. She graduated from John R. Rogers, Kinman Business University and WSU Extension Accounting. She started her career at age 16 at Lincoln First Federal Savings and Loan Association at N. 120 Wall St., Spokane, Wash. She advanced to Mortgage Loan Officer and personal stenographer.

JoAnn married Lee W. Peters in 1961 and later became a rental agent for R & R Investments where her husband was resident manager for Pines Village Apartments. After several years there they moved to Garfield Bay, Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho for 25 years. She served as chairperson for Bonner County Waterways and board director and secretary for Garfield Bay Water and Sewer District. JoAnn also served as a volunteer senior companion for Bonner County for four years in Sandpoint, Idaho.

JoAnn moved with her husband to Maui, Hawaii, working as a rental agent with Lee as resident manager, of Hololani Condominiums, and also Palm Springs, returning to Garfield Bay in 1992. They retired to Coeur d’Alene in 2001.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Lee W. Peters of Coeur d’Alene; one brother, James K. Santora of Spokane; four children, Gregory J. Peters of Coulee Dam, Wash., Douglas M. Peters of Kalispell, Mont, LeeAnn C. Jacot of Spokane Valley, and Jody Hendrex of Post Falls, Idaho; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death were her parents, James Santora, in 1964 and Viola Santora, in 1975.
